Hiace Variations

Hello all,

Today I would like to share about Hiace Variations there are available in the world. My information might not be correct and it may differ from country to country as most of them do not have all the Specs unlike Japan. But allow me to tell it as I see it. If in any case that my information is not accurate, please inform me so that I may make the proper correction. Here we will only discuss about model YEAR 2005 above.Well....Here goes.

 Currently there are 3 Sizes available.
1-  Narrow Body
2-  Wide body (Known as Ventury in Thailand)
3-  Commuter (super long & super wide)

The Narrow Body has 2 variations which is the Low Roof and High Roof.
Each of these variations has different specs available. Each of them may be panel or window.

The Wide Body is somewhat of a special unit. Only comes in Mid roof whereas the Height is only half of the Narrow body's High roof. It is in between Narrow body and Commuter because it shares the same length as the Narrow but has the same Width as the Commuter.

The Commuter has it all. It is Super long and Super wide. I have seen a unit that can fit 2 Super Bike side by side at the rear. Most of these vehicle has been used as Camper Van and also it is the preferred choice for rescue vehicle such as Ambulance due to its Size.

All of the models have 2 specs available:-

 "Super GL" or " S-GL" that is the Luxury specs. Most of them have Automatic Transmission and full interior panels. Exterior looks may differ in some variations. This is the most common spec popular among the Japanese for tuning purposes.

DX spec are the most common in availability. Most of them have Manual Transmission and with minimal interior panels.  Exterior looks also may differ in some variations. This is the most common choice for service van and cargo transporter.

These Variations may not be available in some countries. In Malaysia, there are ONLY 2 variations which is the low roof panel DX and High roof window DX and both of them are Narrow Body. It is a different case in Thailand where they have the Commuter and Wide body Mid roof (Ventury). But in any cases, each of them has their own speciality. Lets look at some photos and please try to spot the difference in all of them.

Wide body is the Silver colour. Both are S-GL.

Hiace Owners In Malaysia.

To All Hiace Fans,

Toyota Hiace is always viewed as a workhorse. nothing more and nothing less. It has been and hopefully always will be the major instrument for many companies in the role of cargo carrier, promotion, transporter,services and various other business purposes.
Many have agreed that this vehicle is among the best choice compared to the others that are available. But this is base on personal preferences. I am not saying that it is the only choice, considering the facts that in certain country it is and sometime a bit on the high side in terms of price. Maybe it is more on vehicle durability or maybe its more on the cost efficiency of the maintenance. Some have agreed on the looks of the vehicle.
There are also who see it as the many potential it holds or the many after-market options available.
What ever the reason that may be, it is my personal opinion that it is more than meets the eye. :)
(A bit cliché on my part. I love Transformers, so give me a break)LoL
The workhorse concept can be viewed at another standpoint. As we know, Japan has a totally different perspective over Toyota Hiace. And that particular style is changing the way others view on Toyota Hiace. In our previous sharing in our blog ,we have posted photos of the various option that is available in Japan.

This post is a tribute to Hiace in Malaysia.

It is still NEW and invitation are still open to all Owners from Malaysia to join.
The objective is to create a healthy community and to share information and also trade goods for Hiace.
It is also to inspire and generate more ideas for creative styling of home grown origin.
Taking into consideration that HIACE styling is an open source concept where it can be from D.I.Y or Customs origins and also aftermarket options, the whole styling concept can be anything depending on the creativity of the owners.
I believe with time, Hiace styling in Malaysia will have a more drastic change and hopefully we can see more vehicles with refreshing ideas and wonderful styles.
